About this Collectable
BMW worked with coachbuilder Baur in the 80s and 90s to build convertible variants that combined comfort, safety and open-top driving. The so-called Baur TC (TopCabriolet) models are distinguished by their specific body structure and were produced in relatively small numbers.
This example is a BMW 323i Baur TC from 1998, finished in red and good for 150 hp. The combination of BMW's six-cylinder engine, rear-wheel drive and the special Baur version provides a driving experience that differs from the standard convertible. The presence of a soft top allows open-top driving, while the car retains its recognizable and distinctive character.
Baur models are rarer than the regular versions and mainly appeal to enthusiasts who are looking for a BMW with extra history and a unique place within the model range.
